Mrs Sutcliffe

Welcome to Orange Class - Year 3/4

Where only our best is enough.

Hello everyone and welcome to Orange Class.

I hope you have all had a lovely break and are ready for the term ahead. Please take note of some important information below.

Remember: Attendance matters and every day counts!  Missing school means missing learning and learning builds from one day to another.

Please ensure your child arrives on time and is ready for the school day ahead. If you have a problem, please let me know as soon as possible or contact the school office.

Start and finish times: Doors open at 8.45 ready in time for registration at 8.55. The school day finishes at 3.30. Please remember to drop-off and collect your child from the junior entrance.

PE: PE day is Monday and Friday when it is not our Forest School time. Remember to come to school in the correct PE uniform. PE on Monday will be outside so please ensure your child is suitable dressed for outdoor PE.

Forest School: Orange Class will attend Forest School in Summer 1, commencing Friday 19th April.  Please ensure your child brings the correct Forest School clothing (waterproofs and wellies/boots are a must) to school on the appropriate days.

Homework: Please read daily with your child and sign their reading diary to indicate you have read with them. Ensure your child completes the activies on TTRockstars at least 4 times per week and support them in having a rapid recall of the multiplication tables to 12x12

Reading remains a key priority. Please remind your child to bring their homework diary and reading book to school every day.

The more that you read,

the more things you will know.

The more that you lean,

the more places you will go.

                                                 Dr. Suess

The power of reading holds the key to success - it not only underpins everyhing we learn about but it also stimulates curiosity, intrigue, an active imagination and helps us to think critically and analytically, so lets work together to make your child be the best reader they can be! You can help by listening to your child read and by reading to your child (bedtime sories are a wonderful way). Don't forget to sign your child's reading diary too - extra creadits are given!
