Welcome back!! 

 

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter holidays and enjoyed the lovely weather smiley

 

This half term we will be covering (Summer 1):

 

Daily

Literacy - Recounts (if you have any pictures/videos of weddings, christenings/baptisms, birthdays and other family you are more than welcome to bring them in)

Numeracy - measurement, time, addition and subtraction

 

Weekly

Guided reading - one guided read with Miss Coxhead, one re-read of a text, one activity, an own read and a pre-read of a text .

PE - games

Music - singing 

History - Whitworth Doctors 

RE - Judaism 

Science - Seasonal change and how day length varies 

Computing - PurpleMash

Art/DT - Textiles 

Homework and Spellings

 

Spellings will be given out every Friday and tested the following Wednesday. Nothing needs handing in for these.

Learning log homework will be given out at the beginning of each half term.

 

Children are also expected to read their home reading books every night. These will be changed on a Friday for Y1. If they have read their books they can read any other books at home and take part in their READING CHALLENGE!

 

Can I please ask that you sign your child's reading diary so I know they have completed their reading homework.

 

 

Please ensure children have both indoor and outdoor PE kit in school every day as we may change the day we do PE. If your child has earrings please ensure they can take them out or have plasters to cover them.

 

Toast is £1.00 a week and children bring this in on a Monday. However they are welcome to bring their own healthy snack instead.

 

Please make sure your contact details are up to date in case of emergency. We will try all numbers given in the case of an emergency if we cannot reach the first contact.

Weekly

We have enjoyed playing out in the snow this week!

 

Welcome back and happy new year! We have lots planned for the beginning of 2019!

One thing we will be doing is going to be getting our ks1 outdoor area up and running this term.

Look out for the pictures of our transformation!

However we are drastically looking for donations of the following:

300ml and 500ml clear plastic bottles

Old tyres

Compost

Flower pots

Gardening tools

An outside brush

Old drain pipe or other pipe

Pallets

We really appreciate all the help you can give us!

Notice for Parents

Please make sure that all learning log books are brought back for the first day back after January. Also it will only be 60p for toast for the first week back smiley

I hope you enjoy our new website! Here is the information for the Autumn term. 

 

Our Christmas performance will be Monday 10th December at 2pm and Tuesday 11th December at 6pm.

 

This term we will be covering (Autumn 2):

Numeracy - Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

 

Phonics - phase 3, phase 5 and phase 6 sounds and spelling patterns.
